Original Artwork of the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™ auctioned in Berlin by Phillips de Pury
On July 7 2006, two days before the final match of the Football World Cup Germany, the original artwork designed for the World Football Association FIFA by international artists will be auctioned by Phillips de Pury at Vonderbank Artgalleries in Berlin. The artwork has been made for the Official Art Edition of the World Cup. At the auction, a previosly unpublished portrait of German megastar of football Franz Beckenbauer by Swiss artist Annelies trba will also be sold. All works to be auctioned will be presented in the exhibition "Art and Football at the German Bundestag" starting on June 1 at the Art Space of the German Bundestag and can be viewed there.
Apart from all original works that have been made for the FIFA Edition, a couple of more works on football will be put to the hammer.
